The boys are learning all about procedural writing in 4^th class this term.  In Ms. Scully’s class, we discussed when we would use procedural writing.  The boys came up with brilliant examples such as recipes; Lego instructions; how to play a board game and directions to locations.

We looked at various samples of procedural writing and learnt what the key elements in procedural writing are.  We examined a simple brown bread recipe.  The boys read through and followed the step by instructions adding ingredients in sequence helping develop comprehension skills. The boys also developed mathematical skills while measuring out the various ingredients needed.  Making our brown bread went down a treat.

All the boys will be making bread for everyone at home now
